Where did the summer go? We had a great time in Life Passages this summer, learning about different vocations/hobbies and how we can be a disciple of Jesus no matter what we decide to be when we ‘grow-up’. Many thanks to the following people who gave of their time to come and talk to the young people of our congregation: Dr. Dave Neiger, Timothy Kuhlmann, Amy & Kevin Simmons, Pastor Herm Kuhlmann, Dr. Heather Lasher, Master Sergeant Bill Pierce, Dr. Dave Dickson and Paul Westrick. You all were wonderful and the kids loved getting to know you.
Now it’s time to get ready for Rally Day, 2010. September 12th is the day we will kick off another great year of Life Passages. We will meet in the Gathering Place at 10:15 am to celebrate Birthdays (July, August and September), sing songs and make a craft. Please plan now for your child to attend this Sunday (and invite friends!)
All children in Life Passages (ages 3 years – 6th grade) will need to have a completed registration form. These can be found in the blue folder on the GROW table in the narthex or on our LOL website. Completed forms can be put in my mailbox or back in the blue folder.
Our Backpack Blessing Sunday will be September 19th at the 9:15 am and 11:15 am services. On that day make sure your child brings their backpack to church so it (and they) can be blessed as another school year starts.
I hope that each of you have had a relaxing and wonderful summer. I look forward to another year of growing together in Life Passages. I pray that you will make Christian Education a priority in your family for the coming year.
