MISSION: To reach people with the love of Jesus Christ.

VISION: Lord of Life Lutheran Church is a community of Christ where we experience God's grace, comfort and acceptance through each other.  From here, everyone is empowered to share, teach and give what each has received.

Music

Music is one of those amazing gifts given to us by God.  It connects us emotionally in a way almost nothing else can.

At Lord of Life, we know that EVERYONE has musical gifts (even if that gift is sometimes the ability to appreciate what others have shared).

Prayer Shawl Ministry

They may look like balls of yarn, but they are just waiting...

...to be knitted and crocheted into shawls,

...prayed over in a group of caring community,

...and given to people in need of comfort in our congregation.

Stop By

Meaningful worship in community that helps you grow closer to God...

An approach to faith that's more complex than simple black-and-white rules...

A desire to grow in discipleship together, knowing that no one has all the answers, but everyone has wisdom...

These are just a few of the things you will find when you worship Jesus Christ at Lord of Life.

mRoad is NOT about everybody believing all the same things.  It's not about shallow happy clappy Jesus songs.

It's about the journey of our real lives.  Real life is hard.  It's full of ups and downs.  It's our journey... Our road...

Let's make the most of it

God is along for the ride with us!

Have you struggled with money, with debt, with savings, …with giving?  Want help on answering the question on how I can be a better steward of my financial gifts?

We are again offering the Good $ense course which provides practical, discipleship guidance for all struggling with these issues.  This year the Good $ense course will be presented in a condensed format, offered over three Sunday afternoon sessions (January 24, January 31 and February 14).

The course will again be led by lay leaders with financial vocations. This is a very good material, including a workbook for your own calculations. The Good $ense class has proven to be a valuable asset to past participants, both members and non-members alike. All of us can benefit from this in-depth study of financial stewardship.

Course registration cost is $12 per workbook/household fee—open to members, non-members and repeat takers alike!

Please see the sign-up registration sheet in the Narthex, or call the church office.
Over the last year we have been exploring all aspects of Stewardship and what it means to our goal of equipping us all to become maturing, growing disciples.  We have studied what it means for a growing disciple to practice stewardship of our time, our spiritual gifts and talents, our sharing of the gospel, and our wealth. All of these are important aspects of Christian stewardship. As our relationship with God grows and matures, so does our understanding and calling to be good stewards of all of our gifts.

Lord of Life members first participated in Compassion Weekend activities in 2007.  Compassion Weekend is an opportunity for members of Lord of Life to participate in volunteerism throughout the community.  It was the brainchild of the Mission Committee and follows the Mission, Vision and Core Values of our church, most specifically “to reach people with the love of Jesus Christ” and to empower everyone “to share, teach and give what each has received.”  Some of the activities from 2007 included landscaping, serving and preparing food, organizing a food pantry, building, and cleaning.  Some of the projects in 2007 took place at Faith Mission, Community Kitchen, First English Parish Hall and Community Center and Lutheran Social Services.

exploring_lolThe next series will begin on Sunday, March 14, 2010.  It's our membership course... but it's really about discovery; exploring why this church exists and whether God is calling you to join us on the journey of discipleship!  The course is led by a team of ministry leaders at Lord of Life and is designed around dialogue.  No commitment or knowledge is necessary to attend.
